Man Shoveling

It took awhile to find the first sound as I was in a residential area that seemed to be deserted, but after awhile I finally came upon an older gentleman breaking up and scrapping off ice on his driveway. Fortunately for me he was so engrossed in what he was doing he didn't see me standing across the street so I was able to get a good amount recorded.

Flag Pole

I was unable to get to close to this flag as it was in someone's yard. Fortunately the wind was blowing hard enough to make it nice and noisy. I didn't stay for to long at this spot as the residents were watching me as I stood in front of their yard, staring at there flagpole with the mic's sticking off either side of my head.

Random Drain

While recording the sounds of the flagpole I suddenly heard a loud burbling noise behind me. When I went to check it out I saw a small pipe the size of a roll of wrapping paper sticking out of the side walk and spraying all over the street. I was unable to capture the sound of the water rushing out with force as it only lasted the time it took me to get over there, but I include it more because I have no idea where the water came from or, if it's a drain pipe for something, I don't know what or where it was draining from to suddenly make it spray like a hose.

Building Exhaust Pipe

On the last part of the walk I passed a small building in an industrial area that looked normal except that it had a mega exhaust pipe sticking out the side of it. I was able to walk up to it and shift the mic's under it for a brief moment until it shut off.

Pigeons

These are the stupid pigeons that live in a smokestack on the other side of our bedroom wall and refuse to die or leave. I recorded them right after getting back from the field walk because they were being loud and it makes me laugh, when it's not three in the morning.

Strategy

To determine how and where I would travel I took all the aces, deuces and trips from 3 decks of cards then deciding black would be left and red would be right, flipped the cards one at a time to plot my path.

Ace of clubs-first left.
Two of hearts-second right

If unable to follow the the directions as written I just skipped ahead to the next one that I could do and continued from there.

Above is the route I took
Or you can view it on Google Maps
